Mall Haul The Anna Foundation For Inclusive Education Mall Haul pairs students with Trisomy 21 with their typically developing peers together for a fun, supervised back-to-school shopping experience. Many students with disabilities have never had the opportunity to participate in that great American rite of passage ~ back-to-school shopping with friends at the mall, something as simple and easy as hanging out with friends.
Mall Haul 2015 brought students with disabilities and typical students together on August 13, 2015, by:
  • Creating friendships between typical students and students with Trisomy 21
  • Helping to reduce social isolation for students with Trisomy 21
  • Helping to end harassment and stereotyping of students with Trisomy 21
  • Helping typical students gain a greater knowledge of the similarities among themselves and a student with Trisomy 21
  • Creating opportunities for all participants to apply money and math skills
  • Creating opportunities for students with Trisomy 21 to succeed independently in a public environment in a fun, positive way
